I’M A SERIOUS OFFICE FAN AND GIGGLE AT THINGS I PROBABLY SHOULDN’T.
I TEND TO BE DRAWN TO THOSE WHO ARE FELLOW AUTHENTIC AND SELF-AWARE HUMANS. TOGETHER, IT DOESN’T HAVE TO BE SAID THAT WE ARE FAR FROM PERFECT. I KNOW HOW TO LAUGH AT EMBARRASSING MOMENTS, MOVE PAST MISTAKES AND EXHIBIT DEEP EMPATHY FOR THOSE I ENCOUNTER.
I ENJOY HAVING FUN IN WORK & LIFE, EVEN WHILE OTHERS MAY THINK IT INAPPROPRIATE.
IS THERE REALLY SUCH A THING AS, “NO?”
I DON’T LIKE SAYING THAT WORD, AND I HATE HEARING IT EVEN MORE!
WHY? BECAUSE “WE CAN’T DO IT THAT WAY” SHOULD BE OUTLAWED FROM BUSINESS VERNACULAR. EVERYTHING HAS A SOLUTION! WHETHER WE KNOW HOW TO SOLVE IT OR NOT, IT’S POSSIBLE TO GET TO THE BOTTOM OF EVERY PROBLEM.
WHEN IT COMES TO MARKETING, EVERYTHING IS FIGURE-OUTABLE, AND I’LL GET TO THE BOTTOM OF IT – EVENTUALLY!

IN THE ARMY, I ACCIDENTLY ENDED UP IN BUDAPEST FOR A WEEK BECAUSE OUR BLACK HAWK BROKE DOWN DURING A DEPLOYMENT TO BOSNIA.
IN LIFE, WE STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN (FROM SCRATCH) AFTER SERVING AS A MILITARY FAMILY FOR SIXTEEN YEARS. AT THIRTY-SOMETHING, WE HAD THREE KIDS, AND NO JOB IN A PLACE WE NEVER BEFORE CALLED HOME.
PERSONALLY, I’VE TRAVERSED HUNDREDS OF HIKING MILES, CRAWLED THROUGH CAVES AND RAPPELLED OVER ROCK FACES – WHILE FOREVER CHASING WATERFALLS!
PROFESSIONALLY, I’VE TAKEN A DIFFERENT TRACK THAN MOST MARKETERS AND I WILL CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE PATH GOD HAS SET BEFORE ME.

DURING MY DECADE-LONG STUMBLE INTO A DIRECTOR OF MARKETING POSITION, THE MARKETING INDUSTRY WAS NEVER REALLY ON MY RADAR. AN ENTREPRENEUR TO MY CORE, IT WAS A DEEP INTEREST IN BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT PAIRED WITH A LOVE FOR OUTDOOR ADVENTURE THAT SLOWLY TANGLED ITS WAY THROUGH MY LIFE, CULMINATING INTO MY CURRENT POSITION AS THE DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & TOURISM IN THE MOUNTAIN LAKE REGION OF NORTHEAST ALABAMA. HERE, IT ALL CLICKED FOR ME, AND BASED ON CHILDHOOD PASSIONS – MY CAREER FOUND ME!
NOW, I CAN HARDLY TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WORK AND PLEASURE AND I PLAN TO CONTINUE LIVING THIS WAY – AS LONG AS I CAN!!
